When I think about it, I pinch myself....

Jan 25th seems like it was just yesterday, I was in Indianapolis, experiencing flight delay after flight delay, the Colts had just won, and Peyton Manning on every TV talking about Colts bid to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, I was uber stressed that I was missing the Saints game. I literally followed the game via "play by play" text from the now BF. (guess I should of known then that he was a keeper) I will never forget, having my phone on, while in flight, with the fight attendants, and passengers around me anxiously awaiting the next update..  I nearly screamed when Garrett Hartley made the feild goal in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC championship that sent us to the big game! I may or may not have done a little "Who Dat" Chant/Dance as soon as I was off the plane...

Fast Forward to Super Bowl XLIV- Sunday, Feb 7th, 2010!!! I headed to our local Creole restaurant, Po Boys- to watch the game with Libby.  You can only imagine how loud I screamed when Tracy Porter intercepted Peyton Manning's pass and returned it for a TD!! It was then that I just knew my NEW ORLEANS SAINTS would be the Super Bowl Champions
Some of my favorite images of the win, can be seen here

In February, Libby & I traveled to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and it was great to see that the spirit of the Saints, and excitement about the Super Bowl win was still alive and well. Part of me thinks that we will never quite "get over it" .... I mean personally, I was raised a Saints Fan .. and while Dad claimed every year, that "This was the Year" ... It still seems surreal
I took this photo
Now Fast Forward to June 16th... as gathered as a team for perhaps the last time, walking the red carpet to the Roosevelt Hotel and heading inside for a private ceremony to receive Super Bowl XLIV championship rings.  When asked about the rings Drew Brees said it best "It symbolizes not just this year, but the culmination of four years of ups and downs," Brees said. "A lot of work and a lot of struggle, but we found a way to become world champions -- and it was never about just one person or even just the team. It was about our city and the community."

The rings were handcrafted by Tiffany & Co. " They are yellow gold featuring the New Orleans Saints fleur-de-lis logo set with round diamonds. 'World Champions' is bezel set with eight diamonds on the top of the ring."

Of course I would just DIE... to have a ring in a little blue box...
I know what you are thinking.. an engagement ring right? ..
WRONG..
I would love to win this raffle, and win my VERY OWN Super Bowl Ring!!! So head on over and snatch up a raffle ticket, and support Saints Gulf Coast Renewal Raffle.. If you don't win, Ill be your best friend FOREVER...

now my favorite quote of the evening came from  Saints executive vice-president Rita Benson LeBlanc

"Certainly, we've got the trip in August coming up the White House, but this does put closure on it," he said. "But I'll tell you what else it does. It whets your appetite, and once you achieve something like this, you certainly thirst for more."

Can't wait for the 2010 football season to start!! WHO DAT!!
