Guest Bedroom

Several of my readers have inquired as to how our guest bed room is coming along! I previous posted here about some of the details.  Good news is we have progress! We have also had two dear friends come to stay with us already! Libby came for a long weekend, and then we were able to host our friend Lindsey when she was in town for an interview! We look forward to hosting more friends in 2011!!!
Above is a photo of the main wall, which C convinced me to paint an accent color! It is a dark gray with a tint of blue. Once I brave our paint rack in the garage, I'll update the post to include the actual colors. We opt'd to go with a white bed skirt, duvet, and pillow shams. My friend Peyton gifted us the Eiffel tower shams, and small Eiffel tower lamp in the corer. We would like to put a Silhouette in each of the frames to the side of the print above the bed. Mission today is to research on ETSY for a great vendor to create these.. If anyone has a great experience or resource please let us know. Additionally, we would like to create a white tufted headboard, and then replace the Eiffel tower pillows with some Euro pillows, and decorate pillows. I already have the decorative pillows, and Euro pillows, C and I just have to decide on fabric and I can start sewing..

Above is the desk with bookcase top and entry way to the room. We decided to move all of our travel books to the guest bedroom,  and opt'd to add a hamper so guests could just leave their towels and sheets for us to wash once they left. We are still looking for a great chair for the room. Of course I would like an antique that I can refinish and cover.. But we refuse to settle, so for now it is chairless..

The above two photos who the view walking into the room. The photos on each side of the window are old french pattern advertisements that I picked up somewhere in college, and we opt'd for white drapes with a black curtain rod. We bought the tie back rods, but have decided not to install them, since the drapers are so light and airy. In the photos above you can also see the chair that will soon be recovered (more in another post) and the dresser and mirror top

last put not least you can see the closet on the other side of the entry way, and the large mirror salvaged from a closing Gap store.. We are loving the way the room is coming together.. Goal is to have it 100% by the end of May...
